November 2011 through the end of the year

Happy News : JUST ONE MORE SHOW WHILE RECORDING FOR THE NEW ALBUM Happy will be performing just one more show in 2011, while he works on his next album. This show is on Black Friday at Rumba Cafe in Columbus, OH. It is an early show-- from 6-9 pm~~ Happy Hour! It starts acoustic and ends as a full on dance party! Come dance off some your Thanksgiving meal! Speaking of Thanksgiving-- we are also hosting a food & clothing drive combined with this show! Drop off any food items or blankets, soap, paper products, scarves, hats, gloves, etc. Everything will be donated to the Clintonville Resource Center which helps local families in need, as well as the Mid Ohio Food Bank. Hey-- if you knit-- consider donating a scarf. Receiving such a thoughtful gift would really make the recipient feel connected to all of us who are thinking of them. Lets all take care of one another~~

Happy News : HAPPY IS PLAYING IN COLUMBUS __ A MONTH OF WEDNESDAYS Happy will be performing "A Month OF Wednesdays at Dick's Den in Columbus, OH (north High Street by the Blue Danube!) Come out and see what is cooking in Happy's workshop! He'll be playing old tunes, debuting new ones and will welcome the occasional surprise guest! Last week ended up as a crazy dance party with his new mechanisms in full use!

Happy News : 2010 recap -- Three US Tours, Fuel TV, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon So far this year, Happy has toured the US and logged in over 150 shows! This year, we've seen him perform on Carson Daly, Jimmy Fallon and next week, he'll be on Jimmy Kimmel! Yes, that means that Happy is heading back out on tour again, this time on the west coast. Early December, Happy will be in Seattle and Los Angeles, once again supporting the fabulous band, Brad (Shawn Smith, Stone Gossard, Regan Hagar, and Mike Berg) and then has the great honor of sitting in with Brad on keys and vocals!! Thanks to everyone for coming out in support of the Andyman-A Thon concert! Andyman Davis beloved friend and Program Director at Cd101 in Columbus, passed away this summer. This year, a special concert to benefit the Andyman-A-Thon and the Andyman Memorial Fund (which goes to his wife and children) was held, November 24th at the LC Ampitheater. Happy reunited Howlin' Maggie (featuring Andy Harrison, Jim Rico and Jerome Dillon) for a one time only event!! Thanks to the nearly sold out crowd for braving the horrific weather to come out and making this such a great evening!!

A Very Special Andyman-A Thon will be held this year. Andyman Davis beloved friend and Program Director at Cd101 in Columbus, passed away this summer. Here are Happy's own words to telll you : (lifted from his myspace blog) " So I used to have this rock band called Howlin' Maggie. Some of you may have heard the music, others not. There were several versions of the band, and we made two albums. The band was certainly near and dear to me, but having focused my attention on solo work these last seven years, Howlin' Maggie music has been largely unplayed and unheard. This week, however, during my 6-9 pm early show at Rumba Café, that will change. This week, and this week only, former band members Randy Sanders, Andy Harrison, Derek DiCenzo, and Lance Ellison will join me and drummer Sam Brown for a long set Friday, August 7, at Rumba Café, where we will dust off some songs from the Howlin' Maggie debut album Honeysuckle Strange. After I play a relatively mellow solo set, expect heroic doses of rock, hard drumming, loud guitars, and the kinds of sounds you'd expect from a band who once shared a manager with Guns 'n' Roses. Happy News : NEW VIDEO FOR A MAN NEEDS AN AIRPLANE Happy has a new video for A Man Needs An Airplane. The video is the work of Bob Egle and Greg Sabo, and was made for the Ohio Film Office. Bob and Greg, along with editor Lance Moody, have created an engaging short film from the song's lyrics, and cut it with performance footage shot last week at The Schuster Center in Dayton. Dayton's connection to the Wright Brothers, and Ohio's contributions to the history of flight and aviation are evoked in the video, and Bob and Greg really captured the majesty and outer-space beauty of The Schuster Center. The scenes shot at the Schuster are beautiful and if you aren't familiar with the building, it is home to the Dayton Philharmonic, and has amazing acoustics and The Milky Way starfield high above. What is cool is this was all created, filmed, edited in 3 weeks -- you should check out the behind the scenes shots and learn about the airplane and how the shots all came to be! Happy News : HOLIDAY HAPPY HOUR FOOD DRIVE --NEW TOUR AND NEW ALBUM!! A HUGE THANKS TO OUR AMAZING NEIGHBORHOOD! The Holiday Happy Hour Food Drive was a HUGE success! Everyone came out each Friday, bringing with them bags and cans of food and we all collected $55 and 305 pounds of food to give to the Mid-ohio Foodbank (! A special thanks to our neighbor, Mark Fisher. who loaded the food and drove it to our home each and every week, a thanks to Rumba Cafe for hosting such a lovely generous food drive and to everyone who brought food to help feed our neighbors!
February brings Happy out on another West Coast tour as the opening act for The Gutter Twins, which is Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan
On the final night of the tour, in Seattle, Happy will have an opening set, Shawn Smith will have an opening set -- and it MIGHT be the only time EVER that the Original Twilight Singers share the stage ( Happy, Greg and Shawn! ) .....should be great!

November / December 2008 News

Happy News : HOLIDAY HAPPY HOUR FOOD DRIVE -- as of 12/05/08 -- we collected over 114 pounds of food and $40 cash! Lets see if we can top that in the next two weeks!! Now that we've welcomed a new president we can be proud of, lets talk hunger!
What in the world would Thanksgiving and Christmas mean without the "giving" part? Without the "thanks" part? Without a little revelry? The answer is "nothing," "nothing," and "more nothing." To help make sure none of us falls prey to a feeling of emptiness and hollow commercialization during these holidays -- and because there are four Fridays nestled in between the two holidays, during which Happy will be holding down the happy hour slot at Rumba Café -- we're putting the "thanks," the "giving," and the "revelry" all together with a Holiday Happy Hour Food Drive. Bring a can of food, a bag of dried beans, a box of mac and cheese, or other non-perishable food to any or all of the shows and receive: a nice, warm feeling of wholeness and generosity as you take a break from the hustle-bustle of the holidays. The generosity goes out into the world and keeps the holidays from being empty. The food goes to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank so that they can do their amazing job of distributing it to people who could use a little warmth in December.
Where: Rumba Cafe 2507 Summit Street (corner of Hudson and Summit). When: 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Fridays from November 28th through December 19th. ( TWO MORE WEEKS DEC 12 and Dec 19 TH) Why: because you care.

August/September 2008 News

Happy News : Happy is beginning work on the new cd! Check here and Myspace for never before released songs,live performances and videos! Hopefully that'll hold you until the new cd comes out!
Happy will be performing a month long residency every Friday from 6-9 pm (happy hour) at Rumba Cafe in Columbus. The shows start Nov 28 and continue each Friday night until Dec 19th! If you are in town for the holidays -- it's a great chance to share happy hour drinks and hear what he's working on! Look for guest performers too!
That will be all of the shows for 2008-- so don't miss them!

You can also get tickets at the door the night of the show-- but they cost a little more! All shows will feature Captain of Industry opening, followed by Happy Chichester - solo, then Happy with his backing band and then The Receiver will round out the night.
